how to fly in comfort

How to travel comfortably by plane

Flying in an aeroplane is like going on a ride. For some the process is a source of inspiration, for others it can be terrifying. In addition to the experience of being aloft, you must also consider the experience of being on the plane itself. There are a few important things to consider if you want to travel comfortably.

When to fly

As it happens, many people prefer to set off in the evening or overnight, so that they arrive at their destination in the morning. This ensures that you will be able to explore the area immediately upon arrival or to complete work tasks (if it is a business trip). In addition, overnight flights can simply be overslept, as it is difficult to fall asleep during the day on the road.

Despite the logic of such conclusions, it is still more convenient to start your journey in the morning. First of all, this is due to the lower likelihood of flight delays. There is also less turbulence during the day.

Special meals

There are airlines that offer a standard menu, which is really impressive. The meals are delicious and varied. But there are also those where you have to make do with the traditional sets on board. They’re not bad either, but there’s nothing unique about them.

There are times when the flight attendants offer several dishes to choose from, such as rice or pasta. You can also specify when buying a ticket if you want a vegetarian or kosher meal. But few people choose a special menu. In fact, such an option is often the tastiest and most interesting.

Drinks

Doctors from all over the world keep telling us that drinking alcohol on board is bad for the body due to the pressure fluctuations. The same goes for lovers of tea or coffee. In addition, studies have shown that the water used to make hot drinks on board contains a lot of harmful bacteria. This is present on almost all airlines.

One simple solution can help avoid a lot of trouble when it comes to drinking on board. Products that have undergone a factory heat treatment should be preferred. This is why you should ask for bottled water, juices and similar products.

Dirty places

Another point about hygiene on board concerns the dirtiest seats. While you can get away with it on the seats, the two most dangerous places are the recliner and the pocket on the backrest. Although these are some of the most frequently used seats on the plane, they are also the dirtiest.

Passengers often throw all sorts of rubbish into the pocket. Dust also accumulates in the corners and is rarely cleaned. They also contain magazines and safety charts which are touched by a huge number of hands. Folding tables, on the other hand, support not only food trays but also various appliances. What’s more, some may put other dirty items on them, or even use them as a changing table.

Escape from the cold on board

Outboard temperatures can drop to -65 degrees Celsius, causing the fuselage to cool rapidly. Despite maintaining a comfortable climate in the cabin, it can get a little chilly sitting near a porthole. This is especially true in the summer, when travelling in light, open-top clothing.

If seats with a luxurious outboard view have been taken, it is advisable to wear warmer clothes. You can also ask the flight attendant for blankets, but they are not always available or they are not provided during the day.
